Forget the year of JLaw, 2013 is the year of Miley Cyrus!!

She has done it again with her latest single, Wrecking Ball, but did you expect anything less than greatness from the great Mileybird?!

After an AH-Mazing performance on Ellen, the We Can’t Stop singer had another hit on her hands, but we’re sure she knew what she was doing.

Wrecking Ball and Bangerz climbed the U.K. charts, making a pretty little nest at number one and it doesn’t look like she’s coming down anytime soon!

It has been a CRAZY comeback for Miley since that super long hiatus!

We wonder if Mileybird can keep it going until 2014!

Buccaneers confirm 3rd player has MRSA infection

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers say a third player has been diagnosed with MRSA, a staph infection that is resistant to many common antibiotics.

General manager Mark Dominik made the announcement Friday, a day after confirming guard Carl Nicks is being treated for a recurrence of MRSA.

Dominik and coach Greg Schiano declined to identify the third player involved in the case diagnosed late Thursday, saying the player requested his name not be released.

"I've spoken to the player, I've spoken to his agent, and we're not at liberty to confirm or deny any player right now," Dominik said.

NFL.com reported the player was rookie cornerback Johnthan Banks.

The second-round draft pick out of Mississippi State was the only new addition Friday to the injury report, which said Banks did not practice due to illness. Banks is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia.

Nicks, who along with kicker Lawrence Tynes was diagnosed as having MRSA in August, also sat out practice. He is questionable to play against Philadelphia.

The team flew in an infectious disease expert to answer questions players had before practice. Schiano said the session lasted more than an hour, pushing back the team's practice schedule.

"As in anything, I think so much of the fear is the unknown," Schiano said. "So as we became better educated, I think kind of understands the game plan and how to make sure this doesn't become a bigger problem."

Dr. Deverick J. Anderson, an associate professor of medicine at the Duke University Medical Center and co-director of the Duke Infection Control Outwork Network said even though there are no other confirmed cases of MRSA on other NFL teams that he doesn't feel players and staff in Tampa Bay are at any higher risk of coming in contact with MRSA.

Meanwhile, NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith issued a statement on the situation.

"We have been involved in an ongoing review of the MRSA incidents in Tampa Bay initiated by the concerns we had about the manner in which team officials responded to these cases," Smith said in a statement.

"We advised the NFL and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that an outside expert should be brought in to assess the situation and we are pleased with their decision to take that recommendation," Smith added. "We have also been in regular contact with the player representatives from Tampa Bay. We will reach out to the Philadelphia Eagles player representatives today and provide them with our best medical guidance and regular updates from the outside experts."

Smith said the situation in Tampa "underscores the need for a League-wide, comprehensive and standardized infectious disease protocol" as well as "improved accountability measures on health and safety issues by the NFL over the clubs."

The initial cases of MRSA were confirmed while the Bucs were in New England holding joint practices with the Patriots before a preseason game. The team hired a company to sanitize One Buc Place, the team's headquarters and training facility, on two separate occasions in an effort to minimize the prospect of other cases.

The Bucs said at the time they did not know where Nicks and Tynes were exposed to MRSA.

Anderson did not plan to recommend a third cleaning of the facility, but that he was working with the team on things players can do themselves to minimize the risk of getting MRSA.

"I can say that I believe it is a safe environment for players and staff," said Anderson, who toured the complex in August and also observed how the team practices after Nicks and Tynes were diagnosed in August.

The expert said the cases involving Nicks and Tynes do not appear to be related, explaining there are different strains of MRSA.

"We don't know about the third one yet. We still need additional information about the specific MRSA that we're dealing with," Anderson said. "But we can actually definitely say that the first two cases were not related to each other."

And, the doctor said Nicks and Tynes did not get the infection from one another.

Nicks sat out the preseason and also missed the first two games of the regular season before being told he was "MRSA free." He started the past two games against New England and Arizona.

Tynes, who helped the New York Giants win a pair of Super Bowls, signed with the Bucs before training camp. He was sidelined by an ingrown toenail on his kicking foot when he was diagnosed as having MRSA.

The Bucs later placed Tynes on the non-football injury list instead of injured reserve. He is being paid his salary, however the players union has filed a grievance on the kicker's behalf due concerns about how the team handled the infection.

Fantasy Hockey: Feeling Saad, pointless Penner ... - Yahoo Sports

Getty ImagesDobber checks in every Thursday to force-feed you the latest fantasy hockey trends. The founder of DobberHockey.com and a columnist for The Hockey News website, he long ago immersed himself into this rollercoaster world and is unable to escape.

If your draft was two weeks ago and most of your players had terrible preseason production, it's time to pack it in and look ahead to next year.

Not really, though sometimes I think the harder-core poolies take every game just that seriously. But there are some things you can take from preseason performance, especially the last two or three games before the campaign kicks off.

Using another one of Frozen Pool's awesome tools, here are the top scorers from the preseason.

Studs...

These fellas are wielding a hot stick. Take that into consideration when you go after them in trade talks...

Brandon Saad, Chicago Blackhawks (3 points in Game 1) – With three points and a plus-2 against the Caps, Saad obviously had himself a great game. What's more impressive - he did it while playing on a line with Joe Lunchbox and Johnny Hardhat:

Tyler Seguin, Dallas Stars (Preseason: 7 points in 5 games) – Seguin tore up his apartment the preseason, making an immediate impact with his new team and displaying early chemistry with Jamie Benn. We're all predicting a big year for Seguin, it's just nice to see promising signs that agree.

Patrick Marleau (Preseason: 6 points in 4 games) – (Sarcasm font) Marleau is bound to have a huge year. This great start before the regular season even kicks off is a surefire sign that a career year is in the cards, because historically whenever Marleau starts hot he continues until the season is done (/Sarcasm font). In all seriousness, I'm not taking Marleau in any league. After his nine goals in five games to kick of 2012-13 he managed just eight in 43.

Toronto goaltending (4 goals allowed, two games, facing 69 shots on goal) – Both Jonathan Bernier and James Reimer are good goaltenders. The consensus is that Bernier is better to some degree, but Reimer tends to bring his game up to another level when challenged. While the split starts really suck in fantasy hockey, an owner in daily leagues will enjoy a surprising amount of success. Just keep an eye on the starting goaltenders daily.

Duds...

Somebody wake these guys up – their fantasy owners are counting on them...

Dustin Penner, Anaheim Ducks (Pointless in the preseason) – Hopes were…tempered by poolies after Penner signed with the Ducks. Because he was expected to be reunited on a line with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf, there was potential for a rebirth of sorts. But Penner's preseason performance was flat as a pancake and he was a healthy scratch in Game 1.

Devin Setoguchi, Winnipeg Jets (Preseason: 1 point in 3 games, pointless in Game 1) – The big acquisitions for the Jets this offseason were not brought in as free agents, but actually via the trade route. Both Setoguchi and Michael Frolik were expected to play bigger offensive roles, but I get the sense that Setoguchi is the guy poolies were favoring. He's also in the top six, while Frolik is on the third line. But Frolik had a bigger presence in the preseason and he scored two goals in the first game with no power-play time. The clock is ticking on Setoguchi, with a hungry Byfuglien Frolik eyeing his spot.

Beau Bennett, Pittsburgh Penguins (Preseason: 1 point in 4 games) – Everyone's favorite dark horse is not looking too promising these days. Jussi Jokinen has taken his prime spot on the Evgeni Malkin line and his production will take - and has taken - a hit. Ironically, the move was likely made because he can still produce from the third line whereas Jokinen is not as promising in that regard.

Devan Dubnyk (5 goals allowed, 28 shots faced in Game 1) – Dubnyk was shellacked last season in Game 2 when he gave up six goals in one period. The feeling I'm getting is that he gets off to a Luongo-like start to his seasons before settling in later in the first month. Might be best to bench him until he irons it out.

The Wire...

Mostly short-term grabs here, but as always some potential steals... Bolland, Arcobello, Rundblad, Eller, Abdelkader, Jokinen

Mikhail Grabovski, Washington Capitals (Preseason: 8 points in 4 games, turned water into wine) – When Grabovski has something to prove, he steps up like no other. And after a productive preseason, he stormed out of the gate with four points in the first game, including the first hat trick of his NHL career. Unfortunately, but the time you're reading this, he will be off the waiver wire. As you can see:

Dave Bolland, Toronto Maple Leafs (2-2-0-2, plus-2, 2 PIM, 5 SOG) – Bolland has always been underrated offensively, but injuries kept happening to him at the worst times, stunting both his development early on in his career as well as any opportunities that he got. An injury is bound to strike. You can see that just by looking at his career stats, but while he's playing you can enjoy better-than-expected numbers.

David Rundblad, Phoenix Coyotes (Preseason: 7 points in 6 games) – It will be tough for Rundblad to produce when both Keith Yandle and Oliver Ekman-Larsson are ahead of him in the power-play pecking order. But he's too talented to not be a factor and after two years in North America, he's finally accustomed to the rinks and the style. Just 1% owned in Yahoo! leagues.

Mark Arcobello, Edmonton Oilers (Preseason: 4 points in 5 games) – The odds were stacked against the 5-9 undrafted pivot, but they're starting to shift his way. With Sam Gagner and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins sidelined, the Oilers are putting Arcobello at center with his former AHL linemate Jordan Eberle on the wing. Not a bad gig.

Lars Eller, Montreal Canadiens (3 points in the first game) – The Habs have four capable centermen with scoring-line upside. So Alex Galchenyuk was moved to the wing to play with Eller. It's looking as if the coach will lean on whoever of the remaining three pivots is wielding the hot stick. Right now that's Eller, as you saw with his three-point performance in Game 1.

Justin Abdelkader, Detroit Red Wings (0 points, plus-1, 2 shots and 5 hits in first game) – Right now, he's playing with Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. What, you need more?

Boone Jenner, Columbus Blue Jackets (Preseason: 4 points in 5 games) – Jenner kicks off the year on a line with some guy named Gaborik. But no pressure. Still just 8% owned in Yahoo! leagues.

A collection of 16 textured quilts inspired by scientific photographs of biological structures is being exhibited at the Center for Care and Discovery, marking the beginning of a series of art installations set for the new hospital pavilion. Photomicrographs taken by researchers at the University of Michigan Center for Organogenesis inspired each of the quilts in the exhibit. Washington, D.C.,-area art quilters from a group called Fiber Artists @ Loose Ends emulated the researchers? photomicrographs using fabrics such as suede, tulle and satin embellished with glass beads, crystals and embroidery to make textile renditions of the microscopic blood vessels, skin cells, retinas and other human and animal tissues.

Leeds turning telephone boxes into free WiFi kiosks, crowdsource your memories for posterity

Public WiFi projects don't normally involve antique restoration and historical crowd sourcing, but that's exactly what's going on in Leeds. Local telecoms company aql is renovating Giles Gilbert Scott's iconic red telephone boxes in the area, adding solar panels, networking equipment and giving them a blue paint-job. While the boxes will be locked to keep the wireless gear secure, the company has added touch screens to the outside, letting locals make emergency calls and leave messages that share their memories about the area -- a better fate for the hardware than inspiring this portable monstrosity.

japan.internet.com recently reported on goo Research?s 8th regular look at mobile devices.

Demographics

Between the 10th and 13th of June 2013 1,085 members of the goo Research online monitor group completed a private internet-based questionnaire. 53.3% of the sample were male, 13.5% in their teens, 15.8% in their twenties, 21.7% in their thirties, 17.3% in their forties, and 31.8% aged fifty or older.

In Q1SQ, I am disappointed that they did not have a separate answer for watching video; I suppose ?web browsing? would cover everything from common or garden surfing to watching free content on YouTube and also paid content on Hulu and the likes, but to see data on usage of subscription services in particular on tablets would be illuminating.
