You don't have to have a college education but you must be willing to learn the in's and out's of the business you have chosen. eBay - Before you start an eBay business I would suggest you get a couple of books on the subject. There are several good books out there plus eBay itself has a good tutorial on their website. The investment is minimal to start an eBay business but it will take a lot of hard work on your part. Rules are different from state to state so you will need to check into that. Also, you will need to set up payment options. Do your research to see if eBay would be something you would like to do.

Telephone Answering Service - This is a good business to run from home. The start up costs are low but you will need to make sure you have a phone line and a line for each client. It could run you up to $200 a month but you would be charging anywhere from $50 to $60 a month just to answer calls. You would charge more for extra's such as paging.

Personal Concierge Service - Before starting this business you need to decide what kind of service's you are willing to provide. Do you want to run errands for the elderly, do shopping, provide transportation, house cleaning, etc? You need to make sure you have reliable transportation. Start up costs are minimal unless you have to go out and buy a vehicle. Otherwise, normal wear and tear on your car and gasoline are your only costs.

Event Planner - The start up costs are minimal but you will need a phone, computer, business cards, and website. You can actually get a college degree as an event planner but the majority don't have one but you can obtain a certification. Event planning has become very successful and you can easily reach a six figure income within three years.

There are hundreds of business opportunities for women out there. The best thing to do is to research online until you find something you would be interested in. They all require hard work but if you really want a home business you will find one right for you.
