DSI was recognized for a Beverly Park (Beverly Hills), CA installation that was awarded both the 'Ultimate Home of the Year' and 'Retrofit Project of the Year' at the Platinum level. Highlights of this installation include: a Media Room home cinema featuring a 103" Runco plasma TV, a Crestron home automation system integrating security, climate, whole house music, a Lutron HomeWorks lighting system, fountains, several audio/video systems, and the pool & spa. Architecture by Landry Design Group and construction by Fort Hill Construction.
The winner for Ultimate Home of the Year at the Gold level is a Malibu, CA beachfront home featuring AMX home automation, a whole house music system, cleverly disguised Sonance architectural speakers, a Media Room with recessed 103" plasma TV, a Lutron HomeWorks whole house lighting system, and a Master Suite that features a large flat screen TV that hides flat under the bed yet rises at the foot of the bed from a special motorized TV lift. Architecture and interior design by Thomas Callaway Associates. Construction by Scott Halley and Associates.
The award winner for 'Best Home Theater / Media Room' is located in the Hidden Hills area of Los Angeles, CA and displays many state-of-the-art features. This custom home cinema features a large Stewart Filmscreen 'Director's Choice' 4-way auto-masking screen that automatically resizes to match the aspect ratio (shape) of the picture; from older analog formats through to the widest of blockbuster movies. Utilizing three independent Crestron touch panels and a Crestron video processor, the homeowner is able to watch up to four video sources simultaneously and the motorized screen again resizes to accommodate the aspect ratio. The home theater also doubles as a gaming room with dual gaming capability (side-by-side video gaming screens). The exceptional sound is from a JBL Synthesis THX home cinema sound system (acoustic design by Anthony Grimani of PMI Ltd.) which includes a custom acoustically-treated motorized door that covers a 12' wide exterior sliding glass door. The custom-designed Fortress Seating home theater seats feature D-BOX motion actuation?that move the theater seats in reaction to the onscreen action. The theater features a lobby with snack counter including a flat screen monitor displaying the same image as the theater. Interior design by Porta Bella.
